Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) is the first technology to fully immerse the viewer in a 3D environment. Not the illusion of 3D through clever perspective, but the virtual experience of a 3D environment that fools your senses into thinking you are now IN the virtual environment rather than in the physical world where you’ve existed all your life! It is a game changer.

Creating WITHIN Virtual Reality: requires controller(s)

Some VR Environments provide tools to build INSIDE VR!
Minecraft VR immerses the builder and uses hand controllers instead of familiar mouse, game controller, and keyboard control.

Minecraft VR is available within Windows 10 VR for Oculus and with VIVECRAFT for the Minecraft Java edition for VIVE and Oculus.

Creating in High Fidelity VR (from creator of Second Life)

  • High Fidelity is the premiere virtual reality social environment that permits free creation of protected regions, permits middle school students to enroll, and allows schools to run their own HF domains and servers. This is relatively new for schools, but it has learned from its predecessor (Second Life) how to do shared VR well. For advanced users (high school CS), the environment and its objects are fully programmable for the creation of new VR experiences:
